Pottery Hanging Planters

Plant Lover’s Home Decor

Pottery Hanging Planters look so great in your windows, and keep your windowsills clutter free. They look so sweet with wandering plants or succulents in them. I love them with “burrow’s tail” which starts small and tall, and grows rapidly to drape over the edges. Burrows tail is somewhat delicate, so it is happy hanging in the window where it wont get bumped. Chinese Money Plant is another really great plant for these planters. The planters do not have a hole, so they will not drip! You can plant your plant directly in them, or just go ahead and pop a plant in while it’s still in the plastic pot from the nursery. They are glazed clear on the inside and angle dipped with a speckled-white glaze outside, for a classic, contemporary look. They go great with all my Mid-Century furnishings. (Planters are approximately 4″x4″x4″)

Coffee Pour Over

New item from Fern Street Pottery!

I have added coffee pour overs to the mix of coffee paraphernalia available from Fern Street Pottery. Pour overs are a great way to steep your coffee- similar to the steeping of a french press, you simply insert a filter, fill the pour over with coffee grounds to your liking, and then pour your hot water over the top. The water will slowly steep the coffee and drain into your mug (I fill mine twice for a big, strong cup of coffee) hot and ready to enjoy. I love my espresso machine, but when the power is out the coffee pour over is always ready. I even bring mine camping! Camping coffee never looked so fabulous. The filters I prefer are Bailetti #2 cone filters or Hario #2 cone filters which are available from Amazon. Both of these filters are actually a true cone shape instead of a flat bottom, so they work without having to fold them.

My pottery is handcrafted (by me!) in my home studio using stoneware, a strong clay body, fired to 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Most pieces are wheel thrown. My work is dishwasher and microwave safe, and designed to be used and enjoyed daily.

You can find coffee pour overs *and a variety of matching mugs!* available in my online shop: https://fernstreetpottery.net/

Coffee Travel Mugs at Fern Street Pottery

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, with style!

As usual it has been a whirlwind here at Fern Street Pottery! This quiet life of pottery is anything but quiet! I have a couple of new pieces to introduce, that have been flying off the shelves. I have started making travel mugs! I have needed one for so long, as I am a coffee addict, and I cringe every time I end up buying a latté on the go in a “disposable” cup. I developed a travel mug that fits into a car’s cup holder. Now, after some trial and error in sizing, it even has a lid. This is no small feat- pottery shrinks!!
